For all of us – those of us in McHale Plant Sales, readers visiting this introductory website, and those many Metso owners and operators dotted across the UK – the time to introduce ourselves to each other is here.

With a massive footprint in the construction, civil works, quarrying and aggregates sectors (and in other sectors too), we in McHale Plant Sales look upon ourselves as people who have grown out of the businesses in which our customers operate.

Building on recent growth and our appointment as distributor for Metso mobile crushing & screening equipment in England, Scotland & Wales, McHale Plant Sales has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated General Sales Manager to join our team. Operating from our new UK depot in Tamworth, we are looking for a team player with a very strong knowledge of and established contacts in the UK aggregates, quarrying and recycling sectors. You will have the ability to deliver on agreed sales targets of Metso mobile crushing & screening equipment and you will be expected to manage a small sales team and work closely with our aftersales team to maximise sales opportunities.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reporting to the Sales Director, you will leverage your existing contacts and relationships in the sector to deliver on the annual sales plan of Metso mobile crushing & screening products.
  • You will work with the sales team to generate a pipeline of sales opportunities by maintaining a high level of customer engagement and activity by targeting existing and prospective customers of Metso mobile equipment.
  • Foster a culture of energy and enthusiasm to get to know our customers by way of regular site visits and customer engagement, ensuring all contacts with existing and prospective customers are positive and professional.
  • Completing tender documentation and preparing quotations to a high standard.
  • Utilising the company CRM system to manage your schedule and activity and to record customer interactions and opportunities.

You will be expected to:

  • Work off your own initiative to develop and deliver your individual sales plan, targeting prospective and existing customers.
  • Work closely with your sales team to develop the overall sales plan and manage and motivate the team positively to deliver the overall sales plan for England, Scotland & Wales.
  • Engage professionally and positively with customers up to director/owner level, offering solutions to their crushing & screening needs.
  • Contribute to reporting and forecasts of sales activity against plan.
  • Establish and maintain good working relationship with Metso management and the McHale Plant Sales management team.
  • Take advantage of opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills of Metso products and services.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience and a proven track record of success selling equipment in the quarrying, aggregates and recycling sectors.
  • Established contacts with senior managers and decision-makers in the independents, majors and contractors in the UK aggregates industry.
  • A good technical knowledge of crushing & screening equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Commercially minded with an eye for an opportunity and sales solutions.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively.
  • Excellent Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent people skills and communication skills, both verbal & written.
  • A strong focus on providing the best customer service experience with an attention to detail.

Operating from our new UK depot in Tamworth, we are looking for team players with a good knowledge of the UK aggregates, quarrying and recycling sectors with the ability to deliver on agreed sales targets of Metso mobile crushing & screening equipment within the assigned territories.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • A good working knowledge of crushing & screening equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and attributes:

Operating from our new midlands based UK depot, we are looking for team players with a good knowledge of the UK aggregates, quarrying and recycling sectors who have a background in the service, repair and maintenance of crushing and Screening equipment.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carry out Pre Delivery Inspections of new Metso equipment once it arrives at our depot from the factory.

Set-up and commissioning of new Metso:Outotec crushing and screening equipment on site at our customers locations.

Trouble shooting, fault finding and diagnosing any machine issues customers experience and repair of same on site.

Service, Repair and maintenance of all machines within an assigned territory both on site and at our depot

At McHale Plant Sales, our Service Engineers are backed up by a highly experienced service department and a continuous training environment.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 5 years’ experience in the construction, quarrying, aggregates and recycling sectors, with a good knowledge of quarrying and aggregates industry practice and health & safety regulations.
  • Have a good knowledge of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical troubleshooting and repair, and must be competent in following electrical and hydraulic schematic diagrams to diagnose faults.
  • Competent in welding and fabrication.
  • Computer Literate.

Operating from our new Midlands based UK depot, we are looking for team players with a good knowledge of the UK aggregates, quarrying and recycling sectors.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Field Service Supervisor, you will play a vital role in the overall quality and efficiency of all service and repair work carried out by the field service team. Your responsibilities will include,

  • Front line support to our customers in breakdown situations.
  • Supervision and scheduling of our field service support team.
  • Liaising internally with workshop and parts departments to quote repairs of machines to customers.
  • Opening, monitoring and closing of jobs for field service engineers on software packages including SME, Access & Link One.
  • Controlling and managing all field activities to achieve monthly targets.
  • Maintaining and managing all service documentation and developing new systems to grow the department.
  • Contacting our customer base to help market and sell our extensive range of service and parts offering.

A positive approach and ability to liaise with customers on all levels is required for this role. A background in the service industry, with 2-3 years in a similar role is essential. The ideal candidate will,

  • Have the ability to quickly learn new skills and interact with all members of the service support team.
  • Be motivated and have the ability to work well within a team and on their own initiative.
